Every year we look forward to what Culture Night will bring. With FREE activities going on all over the city, we are spoilt for choice here in Cork!
This year, Music Generation Cork City are partnering up with Cork City Libraries to offer a variety of delightful events at their locations in Grand Parade, Carnegie Courtyard and Hollyhill Library.
‘Rock the Block’ returns to Carnegie Courtyard for Culture Night, which promises to be a real treat, if our Cruinniú na nÓg activities are anything to go by. The Kabin Studio’s legendary ‘Rap A Mile’ will hit the streets also, bringing the sounds of the Northside into the heart of the city. Indoors, Creative Tradition will host an inter-generational seisiún traidisiúnta and the Kabin will also lead a rap and songwriting workshop in the Rory Gallagher Music Library. A veritable musical smorgasbord!
Our friends in UCC, led out by the incomparable Kelly Boyle, invite you up to Hollyhill library to envelop yourself in the soothing sounds of the Javanese gongs and metallophones of the Cork Community Gamelan.
From an exotic, immersive world-music experience, to lilting melodies of jigs and polkas, to romping raps and pumping beats, we’ve got you covered for Culture Night!
