It has been a long time in the making and a big piece of work so we are delighted to launch our strategic plan 2024-2028.
Our programmes are based on a collaborative model where partnership is key and relationships are built on trust and shared vision. Through the development of this strategic plan, we have asked everyone involved what is working and what is not working. What we should prioritise and do more of.
We have reassessed why we are doing what we are doing and we have worked together to realign and adapt to the changing environment and conditions in which we now work. We want to empower our staff to support children and young people to shape decisions that directly affect them.
A bit about the process:
- We gathered a lot of good information about what everyone wants from MGCC programmes and we will work towards these priorities over the next 4 years.
- We wanted children and young people’s voices to be loud and clear in this plan
- We worked with Paula Phelan to develop to facilitate consultations with 10 different groups from schools, youth settings, Special Education schools, Gaelscoileanna and community settings, as well as meeting with our whole Musician Educator team, partner providers, parents and principals and teachers from our partnering schools.
- We have set our our values and strategic priorities, based on all of the feedback gathered in our strategic plan that you should all have now and that is also available on our website www.musicgenerationcorkcity.com
We want to promote a culture of reflective practice, professional development and respect – we have so much to learn from each other and from our shared practice. We are wildly privileged to work with the professional artists, producers and musicians we count among the Music Generation Cork City team.
