We are so excited to be celebrating the St Patrick’s Festivals in both Cork and Dublin this year!
Here are the events that will be taking place:
Local Events:
- Barrack Street Band will perform live at the Cork City St. Patrick’s Day Parade on 17th March
- The music students of Gaelscoil an Teaghlaigh Naofa, Ballyphehane played at the school’s St. Patrick’s Day parade in Tory Top Park on Wed 16th March. They are learning music as part of the brass & wind programme presented by Barrack Street Band in partnership with Music Generation Cork City.
The Kabin Studio perform at the National St. Patrick’s Festival (Dublin)
The gorgeous song ‘Optimism’, an amazing collaboration between The Kabin Studio, GMCBeats, harper Donnchadh Hughes and Harp Ireland (Cruit Éireann) will be performed on a national stage as part of the St Patrick’s Festival in Dublin at 1pm on Sat 19th March. This performance will be part of a programme featuring 100 young musicians, rappers and harpers from Music Generation programmes across Ireland on the main stage at Collins Barracks in the festival quarter. This event is FREE.
Check out ‘Optimism’ on youtube HERE and below. The song was originally composed and recorded for Lá na Cruite / Harp Day 2021, and we are delighted there is now such a high profile opportunity for this piece to be performed live!
The group from The Kabin will also perform some brand new pieces which were composed as part of ‘Misneach – Female Empowerment Project’ (supported by St. Patrick’s Fest x Tik Tok Creative Fund – see more below). We can’t wait!
Misneach – Female Empowerment Project at The Kabin Studio
This is an amazing project has been taking place in recent weeks at The Kabin Studio. Dedicated to the nurturing female figures from our childhoods, the “Misneach” (“Courage” as Gaeilge) project is all about female empowerment with the goal of encouraging young women to be themselves and educating the community on the many challenges we face.
