The Cork Academy of Music is a Music and Arts Centre initially established as a voluntary initiative on the northside of Cork City in 1994.

Today, Cork Academy of Music runs programmes for adults at their North Monastery Campus, as well as a wide range of youth music hubs and in-school music programmes in partnership with Music Generation Cork City.

Partnership with Music Generation Cork City

The partnership youth music education programmes developed between Cork Academy of Music and Music Generation Cork City cover a wide range of musical genres, from brass & wind programmes, to guitar groups, traditional Irish music, rock & pop hubs and more, including:

After-School / Community Programmes:

  • Mahon Community Concert Band (rehearse at Nagle Community College)
  • Mahon Community Pop Academy (rehearse at Nagle Community College)
  • Fairfield Fairhill Community Association Guitar Group

Schools Programmes:

  • Gaelscoil Mhachan
  • Scoil Mhuire Fatima (North Monastery Primary School)
  • Sundays Well Girls’ N.S.
  • Scoil Ursula, Blackrock
  • Scoil na Croise Naofa, Mahon
  • Blarney Street CBS
